Educational Therapy is an approach to supporting students with learning needs towards improved academic, social-emotional and behavioural outcomes.
The whole child in taken into account when planning support; this includes attention to influential elements of life (such as sleep, physical activity, areas of interest, nutrition, social connections, etc.) while simultaneously addressing academic difficulties.
Support is individualised, incorporates formal and informal assessment data, and is designed to guide students towards improved learning outcomes, independence and confidence.

Educational Therapy sessions are for students with additional learning needs, such as ADHD or Specific Learning Disorders, and students experiencing academic distress due to a range of challenges (chronic illness, anxiety, stress or executive functioning challenges).
Sessions may be 50 or 80 minutes long and occur one to three times a week. A customised, strengths-based approach is carried out in sessions to guide students in improving their self-regard as a learner.
Goals primarily consist of improvements in an academic area of need, and the development of executive functioning skills. Time is also dedicated to addressing social-emotional and behavioral needs of the student to build confidence, independence and develop a growth mindset.
Hands-on tasks, assistive technology and applying communication skills are also incorporated into sessions.
