Internationally Minded
Claire has spent over 20 years teaching in international schools around the globe. Having lived in South-East Asia, Europe and North America, Claire is specialised in supporting students with SEN (Special Educational Needs) across all IB programmes, UK IGCSE, US Common Core, as well as the French Baccalauréat.
The majority of her career has been focused on supporting secondary students with additional learning needs to successfully complete their program of study.
Claire has coordinated teams of learning support specialists to provide targeted support for students across grade levels, and led workshops for teachers, parents and students on various topics related to neurodiversity, learning disabilities, differentiation, and assessment accommodations.
Her international experiences enable her to connect well with students and families living abroad, settling into a new home, language and school.
Claire's professional practice is culturally informed and upholds the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility for all.
Expert Guidance
Claire holds a Master's Degree in Education and certification as an Educational Therapist from Holy Names University, California, USA (2017). She achieved her Specialist qualification in Special Education (2007), as well as her Bachelor of Education (2005) and Bachelor of Arts (2004) degrees from Queen's University, Canada. Most recently, Claire achieved her certificate in International School Leadership from the Principal's Training Center (2023).
Claire is an Associate Member of the Association of Educational Therapists (www.aet-online.org) and is also a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor, highland dance teacher, and mentor-advocate for young people living with
Type 1 Diabetes.
